Hanging Strawberry Plants

Planting strawberries is actually easier than you may think. All you really need is strawberry plants, soil, fertilizer and a lot of sunshine for your plants to thrive in. Nowadays you can actually purchase ready made kits that make it easy to grow strawberries, even in your sleep. However if you are going to do it the traditional way, then this article has some good tips for you.

If you have not prepared your soil do not worry yourself too much, just put some good old organic material into your soil and that is going to really help your strawberries. They are not a deep rooted plant so they like a nice soil ,with a little bit of sand in there.

Just lay all your strawberry plants on the top of the soil and once you have finished laying them on. You can then go back and cover the roots. When you are covering the roots make sure you cover to just below the crown of the plant. This will allow you to get maximum production from the plant. If you go too deep they are not going to produce as well, if you go too shallow they are not going to grow as well.

When you have planted and covered your plants properly you can end the planting process by laying some good organic mess on top of the soil. This will make it look better and also make the soil more fertile. Strawberries do not really like too much fertilization, therefore only apply transplant fertilizer mildly on the top of the organic mesh.

You will have to apply the fertilizer at least four times a year. To complete the planting process, make sure you water the new plants for the first time. Before you know it they will be all grown and producing more strawberries than you and your family can eat.
